As the healthcare arena shifts toward being more patient-focused, new health it initiatives are enabling care providers to offer virtual care to patients wherever they need it. This could include reaching them on a mobile device, in their hotel room or their homes.
A key example of this is remote patient monitoring. This new approach allows care providers to reach patients in rural areas, or even provide access to sought-after specialists that cannot meet with patients in person.
The result is often reduced hospital readmissions, more engagement between patients and doctors and a significant decrease in overall costs.
These are some insights from a podcast interview with Nancy M. Green, Global Lead, Healthcare Channel Marketing at Verizon Enterprise Solutions, who also discussed how many of today’s health it innovations are highly evolved, and are ready to help care givers reach patients through a virtual connection.
