From giant healthcare systems to local practices, there have been huge investments in IT systems that are intended to make record sharing easier, faster, and more secure. But barriers still exist between many EHR systems and incorporating third-party tools isn’t always possible. All this can mean that vital records aren’t always getting where they need to in a timely fashion, which can have huge consequences for patient care.

We’re really hearing from the market that practices want more vendor consolidation. Interoperability has been talked about for years. It’s like we’re searching for the Holy Grail.”
